London – 20th June, 2018. A superfoods brand which began life as a recovery aid for clubbers in Ibiza is continuing to make waves in the UK mainstream, having signed on with two more major high street retailers.

Ibiza Superfoods products now line shelves in 300 UK Holland & Barrett stores, and 26 Boots outlets in Ireland. The health food supplement, which has also been with Whole Foods since late 2017, is enjoying a rapid ascent from its humble beach-front beginnings.

After setting up in a friend’s Ibiza kitchen, and trading exclusively on the island, founder Verity Smith grew a thriving local business. In 2016, she attended the Natural Organic Trade show in London – her brand’s debut UK outing – where she successfully entered Holland & Barrett’s Innovation Pitch competition and caught the attention of press and buyers. 

Ibiza Superfoods products are made from 100% natural, responsibly-sourced materials and help to support anyone’s health and lifestyle goals. 

Founder Verity came to believe in the power of superfoods after they rid her of the chronic IBS and insomnia that had dogged her for a decade. Converted, she quit the day job to study nutrition and soon travelled the world, attending some of Asia’s most remote detox camps and retreats. Deepening her knowledge, honing recipes and developing a network of contacts, she soon made the permanent move from east London to Ibiza to set up her business.

Her first raw superfoods shipment arrived on Ibiza a week after she did and Verity began selling products to friends on the beach, and in Ibiza’s Sunday markets.

Armed with her deep understanding of superfoods and ingredients, her first products were positioned as all-natural restorative blends to help revellers get over their Ibiza hangovers in the healthiest way possible. Soon partiers, retreaters and fitness fanatics – and all the diffuse demographics of Ibiza – were asking for more.

Verity said: “Ibiza Superfoods is a fresh, fun and functional plant-based health brand whose mission is to get you buzzing on the good stuff. I started the company as a bit of fun, but before long I was Ibiza’s “Superfoods Girl” and people were asking for tailored blends to support their goals. 

“I’m delighted that major retailers are supporting us because it means more people have the opportunity to experience the benefits. My story is that I had chronic IBS and didn’t sleep properly for years – I felt lifeless and lethargic 24/7. 

“After experimenting with ingredients like baobab, spirulina, acai and ginseng, the difference in my digestion, skin, sleep and energy levels was night and day. I’d love it if many more people could share in the changes that are possible with a daily injection of uncorrupted, super foods.”
